
The Public Relations Bureau of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) initiated the Government Digital Media Festival (FMDP) at the Tentrem Hotel Ballroom, Yogyakarta. for two days, Wednesday (29/11/2023) and Thursday (30/11/2023), the Ponorogo Information Communication (Kominfo) and Statistics Department took part in this activity, with a series of discussions and conferences, workshops and exhibitions.
Head of the Ponorogo Communications and Information and Statistics Service, Sapto Djatmiko Tjipto Rahardjo, joined all communications actors within the communications and information services of the provincial government, districts/cities throughout Java, a number of ministries, institutions and communities when participating in the FMDP.
“The discussions, conferences and workshops were interesting because they presented speakers with various backgrounds, from professionals to practitioners in the world of communications,” said Sapto.
The government should utilize digital media in implementing its public communications. Because, the growth of internet users is directly proportional to the increase in digital media users. Moreover, Indonesia ranks at the top of the number of social media users in the world after Brazil, the United States, China and India.
“On the other hand, social media has a strong role in encouraging the progress of a country,” he explained.
Sapto said that communications officers in the bureaucracy need to improve their abilities and competencies so that they are able to establish public communication with the community effectively. At FMPD, experts review various tips for facing public communication challenges. “Especially in the government’s communication and public relations strategy,” he said.
