The Sirotol Mustaqim Bridge completes the Tegalsari religious destination

One of the religious tourism destinations in Ponorogo district is now equipped with a suspension bridge 100 meters long and 1.5 meters wide which directly connects the Tegal Sari Mosque complex and the grave of Kyai Ageng Hasan Besari.

Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko explained the background to the name of the bridge ‘Sirotol Mustaqim’ which was built using the APBN worth IDR 4 billion.

He said that it was not without reason that the Suspension Bridge was named after the program of Commission V DPR-RI member Ali Mufti, using the name Sirotol Mustaqim. The reason is, this bridge connects directly to the Tegal Sari Mosque complex and the grave of Kyai Ageng Hasan Besari.

“So the congregation who pass through here will be more motivated to worship. Because the bridge is suspension and not wide, that’s why it is called Sirotol Mustaqim,” he said.

Sugiri admitted that the existence of this suspension bridge could speed up access to the Tegal Sari Mosque complex. Usually pilgrims have to detour through the Jetis market to enter the Tegal Sari complex. “If we go this way, it’s only 500 meters and we’ll have reached the Tegal Sari Mosque complex. So later the vehicle will be parked at the animal market, in the future we will use it as a parking area,” he concluded. Adv/Man
