To provide education about traffic etiquette from an early age, the Education Service in collaboration with the Ponorogo Regency Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (TP) deliberately brought in speakers from the Transportation Service and the local Police Traffic Unit.
Dozens of early childhood education (PAUD) students in Ponorogo received socialization about traffic order at Wengker Park, Monday (6/11/2023).
Regent Sugiri Sancoko, who was present with PAUD Mother Ponorogo Susilowati at the socialization event, believes that educational material about traffic safety will be embedded in children’s brains.
They know from an early age the meaning of the signs installed on the road.
“Part of the effort to build character is how to carry out good transportation and traffic,” said Regent Sugiri Sancoko.

From an early age, children will understand the procedures for crossing the road, respecting fellow road users, and driving manners. However, some parents often forget to introduce the use of helmets to protect their children’s heads when riding motorized vehicles.
“It could be that children will remind their parents how they should drive,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Ponorogo Education Service, Nurhadi Hanuri, revealed that the socialization activity was an effort to instill a culture of orderly traffic from an early age. They will receive educational provisions when they have to drive and become road users in the future.
“Making awareness of orderly traffic means maintaining the safety of yourself and others,” said Nurhadi. The presenters also explained that the traffic signs that have been installed so far are not used as road decoration. But it must be obeyed so that traffic flows smoothly and avoids accidents. “Including etiquette when the red light is on, the meaning of yellow and green light signals. “The children are enthusiastic about taking part in the socialization,” he said.
