The central government supports improvements to tourist access infrastructure in Ponorogo district

Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko continues to strive to accelerate infrastructure improvements in Ponorogo. Even though the regional government is in a deficit condition, the regional government is collaborating with the central government through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2023, Regent Sugiri succeeded in getting the attention of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to help improve the district’s roads.

Chairman of the National Road Implementation Center (Jatimbalinu) Surya Hadi said that there were 6 regional road segments in Ponorogo that were being repaired using the APBN. Among other things, 3 roads in the Sampung corridor, and 3 roads in the Ngebel Corridor.

“The 3 sections for the corridor to the Reog monument include the Sumoroto-Ngambakan section 2.6 kilometers, Carat-Ngambakan 2.17 kilometers and Ngambakan Sampung 2.5 kilometers. Meanwhile, for the corridor to Telaga Ngebel there are 3 more road sections,” he said.

Surya admitted that specifically for the Sampung Corridor, the total funds for repairing these 3 regional roads reached IDR 16.45 billion, sourced from the 2023 APBN.

“Repairs include asphalt hardening and hotmix overlays, widening from 4.5 to 5 meters. For PT Surya Kencana Sakti implementers, the contract is from October 31 to 31,” he admitted.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko, while inspecting the location of road repairs on the Sumoroto-Ngambakan section, admitted that construction in Ponorogo is now based on a pentahelix. This means that if the APBD is not enough, it will be supported by the APBN. This is proven in the road improvements from Sumoroto to Ngambakan.

“At the end of the year it looks good, we will continue again in 2024, God willing, we will almost complete the roads that will become the axis and connectors for several areas,” he admitted.

Sugiri hopes that repairing this road will have a good impact on tourism access and improving the community’s economy. “Sampung and Ngebel are two attractive tourist attractions, the epicenters that need access are from Pohijo, Parang, Kota to Sampung, Madiun to Ngebel, we will fix the city to Ngebel. Ngebel is beautiful, if access is not beautiful it is not beautiful,” he concluded. Adv/Man
