Kakang Senduk, Selection of Ponorogo’s best tourism ambassador

The election of the Ponorogo tourism ambassador, better known as Kakang Senduk, was again held by the Ponorogo Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports Service (Disbudparpora).

After registration opened, there were 225 applicants who registered, however, of this number, only 122 applicants met the requirements, while the other 103 were declared not to have passed.

“The 103 who passed consisted of 60 Kakang, while 62 Senduk,” said the Head of Marketing and Creative Economy at the Ponorogo Disbudparpora, Tini Fifiantini.

Fifi continued, adding that for those who did not pass the selection, there were several reasons, such as insufficient height, insufficient age, not living in Ponorogo, and various things that did not meet the requirements.

Regarding the next stage, participants who pass the selection and fulfill the administrative requirements will take various tests. These tests include performance tests, written tests and interviews, as well as talent tests.

“All stages must be passed, with the aim of selecting a Kakang Senduk tourism ambassador who is able to represent Ponorogo well and has various potentials that can support regional tourism promotion,” he explained.

Fifi revealed that the number of people interested in becoming Kakang Senduk increased this year compared to the previous year. This reflects the increasing interest of Ponorogo young men and women to play an active role in promoting tourism.

“With increasingly tight competition, the quality of Human Resources (HR) will be increasingly tested. This will have a positive impact on tourism development in Ponorogo,” he concluded.

The selection of the Kakang Senduk tourism ambassador is not just an ordinary competition, but also an opportunity to build a positive image and promote Ponorogo tourism.

The selected Kakang Senduk Ponorogo will later become an ambassador who will be able to introduce the beauty and culture of Ponorogo throughout Indonesia and the world.Adv/Ptr
