Indonesia-Japan Friendship Festival 2023 Opened with the Reog Ponorogo performance

Indonesia – Japan Friendship Festival (IJFF) 2023 at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, on 14 – 15 October 2023. Officially opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia (RI Ambassador) to Japan Heri Akhmadi accompanied by Reog art.

The Indonesia – Japan Friendship Festival is a collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Kyodai Remittance, Indonesian Community in Japan (ICJ), Sanggar Duta Melati, Basundhari, the Indonesian – Japanese Entrepreneurs Association (APIJ) and Fujiyamacom.

In his opening remarks, Heri explained that the Indonesia – Japan Friendship Festival 2023 is one of the important markers of the 65th anniversary of Indonesia – Japan.

The warm relations between the two nations are the foundation of strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Japan.

“This festival is an important marker of the strength of 65 years of relations between the two nations. This can be seen from its implementation which is carried out independently and jointly by communities and entrepreneurs from Indonesia and Japan,” said Heri.

Satu Hati, or Kokoro Hitotsu-Ni was inspired by the song “Satu Hati” created by a Japanese singer who is a friend of Indonesia, Hiroaki Kato.

That song inspired the theme of 65 years of Indonesia-Japan relations.

“Kato and Arina are a couple that I deserve to be called Indonesia-Japan Friendship Ambassadors,” he added.

The Reog Ponorogo art display from the Japanese Reog Japshter PSHT group amazed the visitors who thronged this festival.

Apart from the variety of Indonesian and Japanese arts that enlivened this festival, senior Indonesian jazz musicians Dwiki Dharmawan Quintet together with Ita Purnamasari and Ivan Nestorman also enlivened the atmosphere.

A total of 57 Indonesian culinary and craft stands also did not escape the attention of visitors, especially Japanese people who attended this festival. Adv/Man
