The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Ponorogo is revising the Dossier Reog Ponorogo document which will be submitted as a world intangible cultural heritage. After officially being included in the Unesco Incredible Cultural Heritage (ICH) submission list, which will be tried in 2024.
The Group Discussion Forum (FGD) chaired by Hamy Wahjunianto immediately revised the Dossier Reog Ponorogo document, before being submitted to the Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia.
Hamy Wahjunianto, Head of the ICH proposing team, said that the FGD this time was conducted to observe changes in the 2022 and 2023 Dossier forms. According to him, in the 2023 Dossier format the number of sentences used in each point of explanation was less.
“In Dossier 2022, in point 1 regarding general information about Reog Ponorogo, the sentence criteria used can be 250 letters, while in Dossier 2023 it is only 200 letters. So you have to be careful because there are many changes, even though last year we submitted a proposal,” he said , Wednesday (02/08/2023).
Apart from revising it, the Dossier Reog Ponorogo which will be submitted as ICH to Unesco must first be perfected in English.
“So there are several stages. After being revised and in English, we will submit it to the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia to submit it to Unesco so that it will be tried in 2024, and recorded as ICH,” he concluded. Adv/Man
