Sandiaga revealed that the community’s economic vibrancy had been sufficiently awakened by the art event being held by the Ponorogo Regency Government. Starting from small businesses, culinary, crafts, hospitality, and so on.

“If we look at Reog, there are lots of jobs, from makeup artists, dancers, music, to MCs. Costumes, street vendors, small and medium businesses, souvenirs are all open. And that was a direct request,” he said.

The Minister of Tourism also alluded to efforts to include Reog Ponorogo in the UNESCO UCCN Cultural Heritage Representative list.

“We are catching up with UCCN. UCCN scores are very high. There needs to be a boost next year. So ICH is in a row, UCCN is in.” he explained.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will provide full support in developing economic potential and cultural preservation through intensive assistance.

“We will strengthen it with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, UCCN can be presented to complement the ICH that has been listed,” he concluded.

With the commitment of Minister Sandiaga Uno, it is hoped that Reog Ponorogo can achieve recognition as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in 2024.
