The Regional Government of Ponorogo Regency presents the 2023 Ponorogo Creative Festival (PCF) which is in front of Paseban Aloon-Aloon Ponorogo City, Tuesday (23/05/2023).
The Ponorogo Creative Festival, not only shows a variety of typical Ponorogo handicrafts and food, the legendary Reog Ponorogo performing arts are also displayed, in particular the Ponorogo Regency Government invites a number of areas on the island of Java which have culture inspired by Reog Ponorogo art, to appear at the event .
Among them, Barongan art from Blitar Raya, jaran Kepang from Wonosobo Regency, Barongan from Blora Regency, and Jaran Kepang from Temanggung Regency, Central Java Province.
“So the plot in this art is similar to the Reog Ponorogo story. Likewise, the characters shown are also similar to the Reog Ponorogo figures, only packaged differently. Such as Bujang Ganong, Warok, Klono Sewandono, Reog who were transformed into barongan and separate peacocks,” said the Head of the Ponorogo Tourism, Youth and Sports Culture Office (Disbudparpora) Judha Slamet Sarwo Edi.
“Creativity in Ponorogo is undeniable, for that we show it in this activity to further encourage the current economy. Later these UMKM actors will fill the face of Hos Cokroaminoto road. So that makes Ponorogo a creative economy-based cultural tourism destination,” he explained .
Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko admitted that PCF is the implementation of the title of Creative Indonesian City District (KaTa) in 2022. So that it is able to provide education for the younger generation about the beauty and strength of Reog Ponorogo which is able to move the joints of the economy. ” If the Ponorogo National Reog Festival (FRNP) has entered KEN (Kharisma Event Nusantara) it will even be the second best. For that we want to fill the creative space that we just got the creative word for 2022, with this festival. It not only proves that Reog is an inspiration culture in Indonesia, but also to educate the younger generation about the magnitude of our noble culture,” he concluded. Adv/Man
