PAWITANDIROGO Association (Pacitan, Ngawi, Magetan, Madiun, and Ponorogo). Residents from the former Madiun residency area who migrated to a number of areas in Indonesia held a halal bihalal at Sasono Utomo Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta, Sunday (14/5/2023).
The committee presented the Reyog Ponorogo arts with dozens of Reog. Remo dance and dongrek art from Madiun Regency. The committee also brought a variety of typical foods from Pawitandirogo to Jakarta.

Chairman Pawargo Susiwijono Moegiarso who is also the Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs revealed that the ex-Madiun residency area has the potential to become a center for East Java’s economic growth.
“The area in the former Madiun residency can become the center of economic growth in the western part of East Java. There is a lot of potential from each region that has not been managed properly. There is no competition, we complement each other,”

Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko who attended the halal bihalal event at TMII hoped that there would be development synergy in the Pawitandirogo area. With synergy between regions, we can explore each other’s potential which ultimately benefits the welfare of the community.
“In the future it will be better if there is real program synergy in Pawitandirogo,” said Regent Sugiri Sancoko.

Pak Dhe Karwo, the elder of Pawitandirogo, who is also the former governor of East Java, advised that regular meetings of association members be the first step to encourage the areas in the former Madiun Residency to move forward together. The diaspora in Jakarta and occupying important positions in the government should take a role.
“Invite them to bring development programs from the center for the progress of their respective regions,” said Soekarwo, who is now a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres).
Previously, a meeting between Pawargo and the Ponorogo Regency Government represented by the Head of the Education and Culture Office, Judha Slamet Sarwo Edi, took place at the Ali Wardhana Building, the Complex of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. The meeting which was attended by Coordinating Secretary for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso and Director General of Village and Rural Development of the Ministry of Villages Sugito discussed steps to resolve problems that arise in development towards a Ponorogo HEBAT.
