Prepare Dossier UCCN 2023, Collect Data from Reog Performers

The UCCN Ponorogo submission assistance team conducted an FGD

After officially receiving the official release of the 2023 Dossier UCCN format from Unesco, the Ponorogo Regency government through the Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports Service (Disbudparpora) conducted a series of data collection activities, by gathering information from a number of Reog Ponorogo artists.

Disbudparpora brought in a number of artists such as Jathil figures, dance studios, small business actors, and Ponorogo art observers to complete the data that will be included in the Dossier document, which will be submitted to UCCN in May 2023.

The Head of the Ponorogo Disbudparpora, Judha Slamet Sarwo Edi said, the collection of data and information from Reog artists and the creative economy is to support the presentation of data that will be presented before the UCCN curation team.

“We hope that by collecting this data, the compilation of the Ponorogo Dossier can be close to the precision desired by Unesco. So that it will pave the way for Ponorogo to become a world creative city network,” he said, Wednesday (12/04/2023).

Hamy Wahjunianto, the coordinator of the UCCN Ponorogo submission assistance team, revealed that the FGD was conducted for two days to obtain direct data and information for Reog performers. Covers developments, and the impact of Reog art on the creative economy.

” We collect them, then we input them into Dossier, so you can’t compose, you have to come directly from the perpetrators. Because Unesco doesn’t like fillings that are exaggerated, or made as good as possible. It has to be realistic and straightforward. So we are trying to approach precision according to Unesco’s provisions ,” .

Kumalla Ziani Rahmadani, one of the artists in Ponorogo, said he was happy with Ponorogo’s entry as a nominee in the UCCN submission. He hopes Ponorogo can qualify to become a world creative city. “Hopefully it can become a world creative city. So that Ponorogo can be known to the world, both for its arts and creative economy. This will certainly have an impact on the growth of the creative economy in Bumi Reog, of course,” he concluded. adv/man
