
The Hong Kong Flower Show Festival took place lively, this was after the presence of the Reog Ponorogo art performance which was brought by women.
The appearance of the female Reog group, named Singo Wiromo, made the festival in Victorian Park, Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay become lively.
Reog art is the opening act along with 10 other typical Indonesian cultural arts. Among them, Jaipong Dance from West Java, Wira Pertiwi Dance from Yogyakarta, Rangda Dance from Bali, Pencak Silat, Angklung Art, Rari Plate from Sumatra, Sihutur Sanggul Dance from North Sumatra, Gantar Dance from Kalimantan, Gandrung Dance, and Jaranan Art.
Group Reog Coordinator Singo Wiromo Heny said all members involved in the performance were Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) who work in Hong Kong.
“There were 15 of these friends who became Jatil, 7 people became Bujang Ganong, 2 people became Warok and 2 people played the sudden peacock who weighed more than 50 kilograms,” he said.
He also admitted that he received a lot of support for the preservation of the Reog Ponorogo arts in Hong Kong. especially from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) which has provided a lot of support, both directly and through social media. “Very extraordinary, providing lots of support and advice, as well as support through social media,” he concluded. adv/man
