Ponorogo will become an advanced district if its economic growth reaches this psychological figure. “It’s not impossible because we are already at 5.5 percent, we are just one step away, the economy will grow 7 percent next year,” said Kang Giri – the nickname for Regent Sugiri Sancoko – when opening the Circle-P-based business training for micro-entrepreneurs. small and medium enterprises (UMKM) at the Ponorogo Regency Government Hall, Monday (28/11/2022).
Circle-P is a Ponorogo business circle program. Kang Regent said the demographic bonus in the form of a population of Ponorogo reaching one million people was a good market share for absorbing UMKM products. When the local product is able to touch all corners of the district, it will also lead to local economic growth. “Through this Circle-P-based business training, I hope that UMKM will move up the grade,” he explained.
The Ponorogo Regency Government has prepared a digital platform to boost the level of production and marketing of UMKM products. Digitalization of product marketing, is no longer a problem. “We also provide assistance starting from product packaging, capital, to improving human resources. UMKM will continue to grow,” he said.
The former East Java legislator believes that Ponorogo’s economic climate will withstand recession shocks. This is because food security has been formed with evidence that the production of rice and corn commodities has experienced a surplus. “Even if a recession occurs, we are ready.
