Ponorogo Regency under the leadership of Regent Sugiri Sancoko received a sweet gift from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf RI).
This is after the district, which is known as Bumi Reog, has been officially named the KaTa (District/City) for Creative Indonesia in 2022.
Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko confirmed this. He admitted that the title of Indonesian Creative Word for Ponorogo was contained in the Decree of the Menparekraf/Head of Baparekraf number SK/84/DI.01.00/MK/2022 dated 8 December 2022 concerning Determination of Indonesian Creative Districts/Cities for 2022. Of the 51 regencies/cities that submitted themselves as Indonesian Creative Words, only 9 regions were declared by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to be worthy of being Creative Words.
“The Assessment Team has carried out the selection and validation process of filling in forms and videos from all participating districts/cities on November 21-29 2022. Of the 51 districts/cities that submitted only 5 were declared to have passed the evaluation and were eligible,” he said, Friday ( 09/12/2022).
Sugiri admitted that it was Reog Art that led Ponorogo to become Indonesia’s creative artist this year in the performing arts category. Because it is considered to be able to encourage community economic development. While the other 8 creative heads are Bantul Regency (craft), Bitung City (culinary), Bone Bolango Regency (fashion), Gunung Kidul (performing arts), Kebumen (film, animation, video), Lebak (craft), Samosir ( Performing Arts), and the City of Sabang (craft).
“Thank God we can be part of Indonesia’s Creative District/City. All of this is thanks to the hard work of all parties involved, there are artists, crafts (Krajinan Hand), UMKM players, and Academics,” he said.
He hopes that the title of creative Ka Ta for Ponorogo will make the Regency Government and the community more innovative in developing tourism potential, both destinations and arts and crafts.
“Hopefully we can be even more innovative in developing the potential of Ponorogo which has its noble art, namely Reog,” he hoped. As information, after officially becoming Indonesia’s creative head, Ponorogo will become one of the areas that will become part of the Kemenparekraf tourism event calendar. It is also a priority area for development by Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. rea
